Magnolia Vale is a country duo comprised of sisters Katelyn and Samantha Daugherty, both from Lebanon, Kentucky. During the day, sisters Samantha and Katelyn Daugherty are Eastern Kentucky University sophomores, both majoring in pre-occupational science and elementary education.
However, at night, the 19-year-olds are making soulful music as the up-and-coming country duo Magnolia Vale. Harkening back to yesteryear, the singers say they are inspired by country music of days gone by, including the smooth vocals only heard in family harmony.
Last summer, the pair released their first extended play album, “Sunburn,” featuring five original songs co-written by the singers. The release quickly climbed to No. 5 on the country music charts. Additionally, the single “What If,” recorded with artist Taylor Holbrook, rose to No. 14 on iTunes’ August country charts.
